Promoting PNPA to Produce More Leaders

Updated: Feb 23, 2023

The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is the premier institution that offers quality education and training to future law enforcers in the Philippines. Promoting the PNPA is important for several reasons. Firstly, the country needs to have well-trained and educated police officers who can uphold the law and ensure the safety and security of the citizens. The PNPA offers a comprehensive training program that equips cadets with the necessary knowledge and skills to become effective law enforcers.

Secondly, promoting the PNPA can help raise awareness about the importance of law enforcement and the role that police officers play in maintaining law and order. This can help improve the public perception of law enforcement. Lastly, promoting the PNPA can also help address the issue of corruption within law enforcement. By providing a high-quality education and training program, the PNPA can help instill a sense of professionalism and ethics in its cadets, which can help reduce the incidence of corruption and improve the overall performance of the police force.

As a cadet of this prestigious institution, I am honored to represent the PNPA to the criminology student of the Jose Rizal Memorial State University of Dapitan City whose aim is also to serve the country and the people. We can be a leader in our ways but PNPA can mold you to be a leader of the nation which is much more needed today. During our information drives about PNPA, I told them of our goal, to produce more leaders, especially from the Mindanao area.

Most of our upperclassmen told me that there is a big need for officers in the PNP from the Mindanao area. The same thing that what Ret. PLTGEN Malayo said during those days that he was the PNPA Director as he wanted more products of the PNPA from Mindanao. During our information drive, one criminology student asked about how often we conduct this information drive since it was his first time to be an audience of this cause. I felt sad while I answered her question because it was only our first time doing such an activity. Being in front of this crowd and seeing in their eyes the eagerness to become one of us is uplifting. Since it was the first time they had an opportunity to know what PNPA is all about, we're hoping that we have motivated them to try and take the road less traveled.

Overall, promoting the PNPA is essential for ensuring the safety and security of the country, improving the public perception of law enforcement, and addressing the issue of corruption within the police force.
