Catching the Hearts of the Children

Updated: Feb 20, 2023

The most often problem in the province is that parents use the name police to scare their hardheaded siblings. That is the most common reason why children are afraid of police officers instead of looking up to them as their idols or role models. The PNP Oplan BES or the Bisita Eskwela Strong is a program wherein police officers visit daycare and kindergarten children to change their perception of police officers. This aims to develop a relationship with them and to change what was imparted to them which is to be scared when there is a police officer.

Winning the hearts of children involves showing kindness, patience, and understanding. Being attentive to their needs and interests, and actively engaging with them in a positive way can help to build strong and meaningful relationships with children. It's important to remember that each child is unique and may respond differently to different approaches, so it's essential to be flexible and adapt your approach to each child.

As Jose Rizal once said "children are the hope of our motherland", it emphasizes the importance of investing in the education and well-being of the younger generation. It suggests that the future of a country or society depends on the potential of its children to become successful and productive adults. Many societies view children as a precious resource and an investment in the future.

Since children are considered the hope of our motherland, we have to uphold that vision. They cannot make a difference unless we take the step to mold them. They are still young to know what is going on in this world, they can easily be fooled by what they see or what is being told to them. We must not let that happen. At the early stage, it is crucial how we educate them to change the way they perceive things.

It was a heartwarming moment to spend time with children because of their cuteness and jolly faces towards us. Truly a simple smile can change the mood of the day. This program is a stepping stone towards building a good image of the PNP organization, especially for this young generation.
